Dear Santa...

24 December 2016

Cycology letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

I hope you’re well.

Now that Christmas is here, I thought I’d send you my ideal Christmas wish list.

This list is a bit long this year Santa, so I decided to deliver it to you over social media, one day at a time, in the hope that you can send me a gift every day. After all, that's how it's done these days, right? Now we're at the end of those 12 days, you can see my wish list on the Cycology Facebook page.

Please don’t think of me as materialistic, but I do like a little bit of luxury! In return, I’d be eternally grateful and will perpetuate your cause to my kids for as long as they believe in you, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.

Here we go!

Day 1

I was at the Birmingham Cycle Show this year and fell in love (again!) with the Trek Madone. It looks totally gorgeous. I promise, if I can have this under my tree this year, I’ll be good for all of 2017 – well, as good as I can be!

Day 2

To keep my new baby on the road and me motoring smoothly there is nothing better than a tool kit. However, it has to be small, light and obviously look the part.

Guess what Santa, I found the perfect gift for me with this Silca T-Ratchet + Ti Torque Kit. It ain’t cheap, but nothing worth having ever is!

Day 3

I’m renowned for not cleaning my bike, usually leaving it to Mother Nature’s tears of joy to do the job for me. However, now I have the bike of my dreams (thank you!), I guess I better keep it clean with the Ultimate Bicycle Cleaning Kit. Once I get it, I’ll get one of my kids to do the cleaning as part of their pocket money work!

Day 4

I’ve never been one to keep up with technology, so for the past two years I have not had a bike computer of any type! I know… I know, time to sort that out. Hopefully 2017 is my year for a new Garmin Edge 1000 cycle sat nav.

Day 5

After many years of use, my cycling attire is now totally knackered and some new ashmei clothing would go down well! I’m not sure if it will help me ‘out perform the best’ but I’d definitely look great in it! The road can be my catwalk!

Day 6

Cold feet, Santa, are the bane of my life – I think you’ll know about this on Christmas Eve. While overshoes are okay, I think I’ll opt for another pair of these puppies: Northwave Celsius 2 GTX….. ohhh they work so well and I can recommend them to you for your Christmas journey, minus the cleats of course!

Day 7

As I mentioned before, The Boss (my wife), gave me permission to go to the Cycle Show at the NEC this year, and whilst there I popped onto the GoPro Stand and was amazed at the GoPro Hero5 Session. I doubt I’d use it, but can I have one just in case!

Day 8

So that I don’t clutter up my cupboard, it would be great if you could throw in a Henty CoPilot bag to carry all of my new clothing, gadgets etc. This would work a treat for these short trips back and forth to Mallorca for cycling weekends with Cycology Travel.

Day 9

So we are coming to the end of my wish list and I just remembered my Oakley sun glasses have given up the ghost after ten years of use. You gotta admit that’s good value for money, Santa! So please can I add a pair of these eye catching Oakley Jawbreakers to my list? You and me, we’ll be besties forever!

Day 10

I’m no Peter Sagan or Chris Froome, but I could do with some great professional cycling coaching. I found this 15-week coaching offering, which I know would work well for me. I especially like the onsite coaching in March in the sun!

Day 11

Christmas is about giving, so I thought I’d share some love with some Tour de France Lego for my kids. Any they don’t use I can keep on my desk at work!

Day 12

For my long suffering wife (The Boss), I have the perfect weekend break for her. I’d like to take her to Mallorca on a Cycology Travel Collective Weekend. While I’m in the saddle for a couple of hours, she can be in the spa, or by the pool, and then we can enjoy the rest of the day together, until the following morning when I head out again – she’ll love that. They’ve even got Valentine's day sorted if I push out the boat!

So there you have it. As you can see, I don’t want much, but if you can manage this list, I’d be eternally grateful. I’ve ordered an extra-large tree this year, and of course I’ll place an extra large mince pie and bottle of sherry under the tree for you. I think you’ll need all the energy you’ve got to carry this lot for me.

Thank you!

Lots of love & fly safe…

Robert

PS: If you can’t do any of the above, then all I’d like instead is world peace and prosperity to all.
