Great Father’s Day gift ideas for the cycling-mad dad

Fathers Day Gift Ideas Cycology Travel

Father’s Day is coming – on Sunday June 19th to be exact. The day where dads everywhere are treated like a king for a day…or at least given extra hugs and breakfast in bed, and another pair of socks!

If dad is a cyclist, we have some great ideas about gifts he might like. First off, and top of the tree in all respects, a Cycology holiday in Mallorca like one of these, where dad can enjoy all the thrills of climbing the colls with a guilt-free, five-star experience that he’ll never forget. And, if it isn’t a son or daughter giving this incredible gift, but a Significant Other, there’s a bonus: the YSO programme ensures that the non-cycling partner gets just as much pleasure out of the trip as the cyclist. As for the hotels and the food – that’s something else!

Other ideas? Well, somewhere to keep his bike safe and out of the way while he’s off road would be useful. Take a look at this solid, hand carved piece of oak shelving. You can have any message you like carved into the front and the groove will be just perfect for hanging the frame on. Or, how about a Cycloc; an innovative vertical bike storage solution for home or the office.

Cyclists have special nutritional needs both for energy during the ride and for recovery afterwards. Zipvit has a rather nice bundle that caters to both.

Paul Smith has some splendid cuff links showing a gold racing bike with silver wheels; if that’s a little steep, these – created by Cyclechic out of what they call “pre-loved bike chains” – could be just the ticket, while the more traditionally minded man might go for the bone shaker look. Other alternatives include miniature road bikes for the desk or race chain bracelet for the dad who likes a bit of bling!

There’s no shortage of suitable T-shirts. This one, for example, is tailor-made for the father who does all his own maintenance, while this one sends a message that cyclists will love, and this one would be great for the guy who’s been around a while.

But if it’s something to wear while cycling you’re after for Dad, Ashmei have some really cool attire – and that’s cool in every sense. Made with merino wool, a wonderful natural material that doesn’t smell whatever’s going on inside it and keeps the old man warm in cold conditions, but cools him down later when things start to hot up. The genius of Ashmei twins merino wool with carbon; carbon absorbs moisture faster and better than anything we know and any active dad that loves cycling is going to love this pair of merino and carbon vests.

Before we leave the subject of clothes – does he ever need to take his suit or other formal gear with him when he cycles? Does it get in a bit of a mess? The Henty Wingman solves those problems.

We can think of some fathers who would love one of these on their handlebars and one of these in their saddle bag.

And, finally, for the Robin Hood in your life, how about this?

Or, of course, you could just let him off washing the dishes for the day.
