When booking your cycling holiday with Cycology, you have two options when it comes to how you ride around the Colls, mountains and roads; you can hire your bike, or bring your own.

Your cycling holiday is specifically catered to you, and we will do whatever we can to make it convenient and stress free. If being able to hire a bike is a factor that will help with this, then we can give you access to some of the best, lightest performance bikes on the market, all with the specifications that you need in order to get the very best cycling experience.

We don’t just want you to feel like a run-of-the-mill racer or mountain biker; we want you to feel like you’re up there with the best of them, part of a professional peloton! We also have some ultra-cool E-bikes to ensure you have an electrifying time.

Once you have chosen your bike and we have checked availability, we will arrange to deliver it to you wherever you are. No need for you to chase or worry, everything is done for you; just don’t forget your helmet, bike clothes, pedals and bike shoes!

If you accidentally forget your own clothes, we can even fix this for you, although we do recommend having your own as it's the best way for you to feel comfortable.

Pedals

We can also supply you with the correct pedals to suit your cleated shoes, or you are free to bring your own. We offer everything from standard flat pedals to ultra-light clip-in-pedals that offer a weightless, strong and responsive performance. However, we do recommend you bring your own pedals for best fit and pedals are all subject to availability at the time of hiring.

Options include:

  1. 1 Look Keo
  2. 2 Toe Clips
  3. 3 Shimano SPD-SL
  4. 4 Shimano SPD-M520
Gears

Should you want to change the gearing on your hire bikes, please let us know at the enquiry stage and we will confirm if it is possible. This will incur an additional cost.

Brakes

Brakes on your hire bike will be European standard, i.e.. your back brake will be on the RIGHT hand side of your handlebar. Should you want to change this around, please let us know at the enquiry stage and we can confirm if can be done and at what additional cost.

Bringing your own bike?

All you need to do is tell us when you book so that we can make arrangements for your transportation.

Bringing your own

We know as well as anyone that your own bike is sacred to you, which is why we offer all guests the opportunity to bring their own, rather than hire what we have available. All accommodation has secure facilities for you to store your bike once you arrive, but we always recommend that you pack your bike in your bike box, just to be on the safe side!

If you go for the ‘bring your own bike’ option, just let us know and we will ensure that all of your transport arrangements can cater to your bike box on the journey from the airport to your chosen hotel.

Need some help with that?

If you need to hire a bike box we recommend you contact Bike Box Online who will be able to assist you.

Need to ship your bike in advance of your departure? Save time, money and the hassle of shipping it door-to-door with our global luggage delivery partner, Luggage Mule.

Beat all the queuing, bag dropping and carousel shoulder-nudging with Luggage Mule’s guaranteed door-to-hotel and back service. You can send up to 30kg of luggage, track it in real time, and once your Cycology cycling adventure has come to an end, Luggage Mule will collect it from your hotel and ship it back to your home.

Cover your bike in transit (and when riding!) with our insurance partner Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance.
